Hole 15 - Heathery Lie

The 15th hole is played from slightly elevated tees, driving directly across Sweethaws Lane to a left to right sloping fairway, which was once upon a time made up almost entirely of closely mown heather. Now it's disappeared it has been replaced by the finest of heathland grasses which invariably results in a very tight lie.

The first bounce from your drive is apt to kick to the right and can end up running sideways into the generous right-hand semi-rough. The green is set at the top of a short steep slope which, from the bottom of the dip at the end of the fairway, often requires you to use an extra club. The putting surface offers some testing pin placements so leaving your ball below the pin is crucial.
