Crowborough Beacon Golf Club

Visitors Guide

Prior to Play

All players must check in at the Professional's Shop at least 15 minutes before their start time to confirm the number of their group and the format that they are playing.

Our Professional Shop is a short walk from the clubhouse overlooking the 18th green.

Visitors are requested to change in the clubhouse changing rooms and not in the car park.

On the Course

Slow play reduces the enjoyment of the game for most players, so please endeavour to complete your round in 4 hours.

The following tips for faster play are suggested:-

  1. Play ready golf
  2. Always play a provisional ball if there is any doubt on your tee shot.
  3. Adhere to the 3 minute rule when looking for a lost ball
  4. Mark scorecards on the next tee, not the green
  5. Park clubs/trolleys/buggies efficiently (green to tee exit) and keep out of weather
  6. Your position on the course is behind the group in front, not in front of the group behind.
  7. If your group is holding up play, please stand aside and the group behind play through.
  8. Persistently slow groups may be asked to leave the course

Dress at Crowborough Beacon

Crowborough Beacon is a friendly, informal club preferring to adopt the standards of a traditional members' club whilst embracing the changing fashions of golfing atire. We ask all golfers and visitors to dress and behave in a responsible manner.
On the golf course and practice areas, recognised golfing attire that can be purchased from a golf shop is acceptable, whilst in the clubhouse smart casual wear is the order of the day. The dress code may differ for specific events and these requirements will be noted accordingly on the event advert.
Please wear clean, non-spiked, shoes when entering the Bar and Lounge, or soft-spiked shoes if returning to the Terrace.
Our Changing Rooms are available for members and guests to use both before and after your game.

Etiquette

Be thoughtful. Respect is not just a courtesy, it is the essence of the game. Always be aware of your surroundings, maintain a steady pace and ensure that your actions respect the enjoyment and safety of everyone on and off the course. Only raise your voice to shout Fore!

Leave only footprints (and perhaps your name on the leaderboard).
Our course is a gem and keeping it that way is a shared responsibility.
Please always remember to replace divots, repair pitch marks and rake bunkers. Better still, take out a bag of seeded soil to fill unrepaired divots.

Mobile Phones

Please switch mobile phones to silent or vibrate mode and use them responsibly so as not to disturb others. Calls may be made/taken in the entrance hall or on the terrace, or on the course in an emergency.
