The Lady Captain's Message

It was an honour and a privilege to be asked to be the Lady Captain of Crowborough Beacon Ladies section for 2024, a challenge I could not refuse.

Crowborough Beacon is a friendly and welcoming club. We currently have 65 Lady members with a range of handicaps from single figures up to close on the maximum of 54. Regardless of handicap, everyone is encouraged to join in the Golf competitions, the formal competitions for the club trophies, the less formal team competitions, the Ladybirds, the Rabbits, the mixed competitions and the matches.

The clubhouse lends itself to socialising. Post golfing chatter, informal gatherings and pre-arranged social events all blend together to create a busy environment. A well- stocked bar, good food and stunning views from the clubhouse and terrace, all contribute to a very convivial atmosphere where everyone is given a warm welcome by both members and staff.

The golf course, recently referred to as a "must play hidden gem" by Golf Monthly, sets a golfing challenge from either the red or the blue tees. The course is woven into the landscape with many twists and turns, never the same from one day to the next. Every hole is unique and memorable, always leaving the golfer with a wish to return.
