Hole:

9th Hole - Alchornes

395 yards  -  Par 4  -  S.I.5

The 9th hole is played to a fairway sloping gently from left to right, the second shot being played uphill on a left hand dog leg to a sloping green rising from front to back.

The green is protected by humps of various shapes and sizes, some heather covered. There is a line of firs to the rear of the green and a halfway hut hidden amongst them, all of which form a natural boundary to the adjacent 10th hole. From the green there are far reaching views to the south and a long view up the 10th hole, which is separated by a long line of pines shared with the 10th.

A perfect drive would be to pitch on the left edge of the fairway from where the ball should release and run to the right - too far to the right and you must beware as the land slopes away to leave you a much longer and more difficult shot to the green.
